What’s happening in our community?

Explore some of the many projects happening in the Siuslaw region. Current projects include: planning for a community recreation center; developing a community resources guide to promote nonprofits and community services; exploring a one-stop site for social services and community resources; helping keep our region connected during the pandemic; helping connect nonprofits with funding; and serving on a regional Broadband Action Team.

Projects the community has completed in the last few years include: supporting expanded bus service from Florence to Eugene and Yachats; Mapleton Preschool, Florence Farmers Market, cooking skills education, an affordable housing community, several projects to serve unhoused community members, ReVision Florence highway renovation, an evaluation of education in our region, community health needs assessment, efforts to reopen the Siuslaw Regional Aquatic Center pool in Mapleton, small business development, public art, behavioral health care in schools, child abuse prevention, career technical education and lifelong learning, high speed fiber optics, youth soccer, and much more!
